On Wednesday, CNN reported that first daughter Ivanka Trump was deposed this week as part of the D.C. attorney general’s lawsuit probing potential misuse of the Trump 2016 inauguration fund.
“In January, the DC attorney general’s office sued the Trump Organization and Presidential Inaugural Committee alleging they abused more than $1 million raised by the nonprofit by ‘grossly overpaying’ for use of event space at the Trump hotel in Washington for the 2017 inauguration,” reported Kara Scannell. “Depositions of witnesses as part of the lawsuit have been underway over the past several weeks.”
“The attorney general’s office has also subpoenaed records from [Tom] Barrack, Ivanka Trump, first lady Melania Trump, and Rick Gates, the former inaugural committee deputy chairman,” continued the report. “According to the lawsuit, Gates ‘personally managed’ discussions with the Trump hotel about event space.”
Ivanka is also involved in a separate investigation by prosecutors in New York, who are examining tax writeoffs President Donald Trump took on consulting fees paid out to her.

Ivanka Trump Postpones Georgia Campaign Events Ahead of Relief Vote

Pending a vote on a long-awaited coronavirus relief package by lawmakers, Ivanka Trump postponed several campaign events in Georgia.
President Donald Trump’s daughter tweeted Monday that she was in Fulton County, Georgia, for an early voting event with GOP Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. Both Republican senators are on the ballot in a runoff election scheduled to take place Jan. 5. The results of the race will determine what party gains control of the Senate.
“Due to the COVID relief vote today, we’ll be postponing the rest of today’s events,” she tweeted. “We must focus on what’s most important- support for hard working Americans. Relief is on the way!”
Following the Fulton County event, the group was scheduled to participate in a campaign rally in Walton County, Georgia, and make an appearance in Suwanee for a fireside chat. Perdue and Loeffler also rescheduled their appearances so they can head to Washington, D.C., to vote on the stimulus package.
Despite cancellations from the headliners, a spokesperson from the Georgia Republican Party told the Walton Tribune that the Monday rally would still take place.
According to The Hill, Kamala Harris had to shift her campaign visits in Georgia due to the relief package vote. She was supposed to hold events in both Columbus and Suwanee. She will only visit Columbus to campaign for Democrat candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.

Internet blasts ‘#FakeScientist’ Ivanka Trump for claiming ‘lockdowns are not grounded in science’

First Daughter Ivanka Trump, rumored to be exploring a possible entry into electoral politics after her father leaves office, is flexing her MAGA muscles more often these days. While the advisor to the president has generally focused her public statements on sometimes false but always positive framing of the Trump agenda and her perceived accomplishments, on Tuesday she went on the attack.
“These blanket lockdowns are not grounded in science,” tweeted Ivanka Trump, who has a history of ignoring stay-at-home orders herself and is neither a scientist nor a medical expert. “These arbitrary rules imposed by callous politicians are destroying lives. It is just wrong for small business owners to have fight so hard to keep their American dream alive.”
As many were quick to remind her, the “lockdowns” are necessary because President Donald Trump and his administration, including Ivanka Trump and her husband, senior advisor to the president Jared Kushner, refused to take the coronavirus seriously and engaged in a partisan attack on COVID-19 prevention.
If President Trump had acted quickly and smartly, if he had embraced mask-wearing and urged Americans to take the threat seriously, hundreds of thousands of lives would have been saved by the time the pandemic will be over.
Ivanka Trump has a years-long history of tone deaf tweets. Earlier this month she tried to elevate and equate herself with former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
